About the Project
In 2024, Alicia Ashe bequeathed a 60-acre parcel of land adjacent to 308 Cape Road, the residence of Tom and Ann Ewig, to the Maine Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. Subsequently, the Nature Conservancy has agreed to transfer these properties to Bridgton-based Loon Echo Land Trust (LELT) by the end of 2027. Notably, about 40 acres of this land feature 2,000 feet of shoreline along Sebago Lake. The remaining 20 acres are adjacent to the north and south borders of 308 Cape Road.
LELT is currently preparing for the property transfer, including fundraising for the long-term costs of ownership, and planning for the future use of the 40-acre shoreline property as conservation land, and potential uses for the remaining 20 acres.
