Holiday Weekend Hiking Reminders

A friendly reminder as we head into the holiday weekend (with some amazing hiking weather!):

  • If a parking lot is full, please do not park on the road. This is especially important on Mountain Road near the Ledges & Bald Peak trails of Pleasant Mountain. Please use the overflow parking at the lower east-side parking area at Pleasant Mountain Maine Ski Area. Have a plan B and C destination in case you come across a full parking lot. Maine Trail Finder is a great resource for finding local trails!
  • Carry out everything you bring in - including dog poop! Pick it up and carry it all the way out to your car, back to your house or the nearest trash receptacle. No LELT properties have trash service.
  • Keep dogs on a leash where required. The trails will likely be busy and some folks choose to hike on trails where dogs are required to be on a leash for a number of reasons. Please be respectful.
  • Consider giving back to the trails by becoming a LELT ambassador! Sign up for our LELT Ambassador Training on June 18th to learn more about these volunteer opportunities.

It takes all of us working together to keep LELT lands and trails beautiful and ensure everyone enjoys their time on the trail. Thank you for doing your part.
