Request for Proposals: Rolfe Hill Mountain Bike Trails

Loon Echo Land Trust, a Bridgton, Maine-based conservation and trails nonprofit organization, is seeking proposals from qualified mountain bike trail construction contractors for a mountain bike optimized trails project located at Rolfe Hill Forest in Casco, Maine. The project is funded in part by a Maine Trails Program grant administered by the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands, Grants & Community Recreation Program. The scope of work includes:

  • 0.45 miles of advanced bike-only downhill trail,
  • 0.80 miles of intermediate bike-only downhill, and
  • 0.75 miles of easiest adaptive mountain bike shared-use trail
  • 5 days contractor support for volunteer-built bike only downhill trail

This trails project has been designed by Steve Kasacek of Outdoor Sport Institute. An optional site visit for interested bidders will be held at 9 am on Friday, April 3rd, 2026 at Rolfe Hill Forest in Casco, Maine. All requests for clarification and questions are due April 6 and the final bid package is due April 15. Additional dates are available in the RFP.
