What: A hands-on opportunity to plant American chestnut seedlings as part of The American Chestnut Foundation's "Chestnuts Across Maine" initiative. We will also be sharing more information on how to join the Lake Region 'Chestnut Restoration Team', which will help monitor the seedlings after planting.

6/7 Volunteer Trail Maintenance 101 - National Trails Day
What: Join Loon Echo Land Trust and Greater Lovell Land Trust for an introduction to maintaining trails. The hands-on workshop will cover tool safety, corridor maintenance, drainage, social trails, and water bars. We'll also go over trail standards and the best way to get involved with trail work locally.
When: June 7th, 2025 | 9am - 12pm
Where: Ledges Trail, Pleasant Mountain
What to bring: Work boots, pants, gloves, tick repellant, water and snacks. Bring your favorite loppers, hand saws, or digging tools if you have them. Tools will also be provided.

6/9 Ambassador Training
Monday June 9th at 5:30pm in-person and on Zoom
Loon Echo Land Trust Office, 8 Depot St, Bridgton, ME
Do you love LELT, the outdoors, & trails? Want to help create a welcoming environment for visitors to the Lake Region? Become a LELT Ambassador! These outreach opportunities are a fun and impactful way to engage with the community, and include hosting information tables and greeting community members at popular LELT preserve trailheads, summits and special events.
No prior experience is necessary; we will provide all the training, information, and materials you need. Ambassadors should be enthusiastic about LELT’s work & mission, be comfortable interacting with a variety of audiences, and have familiarity with the trail or property they want to be an ambassador for.
Our 2025 Ambassador Training is scheduled for Monday June 9th at 5:30pm in-person and on Zoom. Come to the training and see if you're interested! No pressure to sign up for a shift.
