The Lake Region Woodshed is a community initiative led by Loon Echo Land Trust in collaboration with local volunteers, organizations, and businesses to ensure our neighbors stay warm through the long Maine winter. Founded in 2024, the Woodshed is designed to respond quickly with firewood assistance for anyone experiencing a home heating crisis or in need of firewood for the heating season. Firewood is distributed through scheduled pickups and coordinated home deliveries from our main site at 44 South High Street in Bridgton, generously hosted by Bridgton First Church.
Thank you to Khiel Logging and Firewood for supporting the Woodshed with discounted firewood and delivery.
Celebrate the launch of the Lake Region Woodshed! Project partners will share information about the Woodshed and how to get involved. There will also be an optional hands-on opportunity to stack firewood.

There is a growing list of volunteer needs including staffing recipient pick up times, stacking firewood, coordinating and assisting with wood pickups from donors, raising funds for the project and more.
We are not currently accepting requests. Applications will open by September 2025.
